BLANKENBUSH: WIN BELONGS TO THE NORTH COUNTRY
BLANKENBUSH: WIN BELONGS TO THE NORTH COUNTRY
Statement from Assemblyman Elect Ken Blankenbush (R,C-Black River)
“I am humbled by the number of voters who showed up at the polls for me today. I feel this is a victory for the North Country. The 122nd Assembly District voters have decided that North Country values and commonsense are exactly what Albany needs to turn it around.
“I thank Brian McGrath for his spirited competitive campaign that prompted many discussions about the North Country. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
“I would like to thank Sheila, my wife, my children and my grandchildren for their constant support and keeping me grounded during this process. I am especially grateful for all the support and guidance I received from the Republican and Conservative chairmen and committees. I thank the many organizations that have endorsed me and appreciate their recognition of my stance on many important issues to the North Country. Finally, I must thank the number of volunteers who have walked, dropped literature and made phone calls on my behalf. Without your grassroots efforts, this would not be possible.
“I am proud of the campaign that I have run – always staying positive and on the issues. The North Country has spoken and their vote only proves that they don’t want New York City’s influence in our community anymore. I will vote for real reforms, hold true to conservative values of fiscal restraint and smaller government, and promote job growth efforts and tax relief in the North Country.
“I will always listen to and put North Country’s needs first and I will be the biggest thorn in Sheldon Silver’s side. Again, thank you to all who voted for me; I look forward to representing the entire 122nd Assembly District in Albany starting in January.”
